From September 2017 students wishing to study Mathematics after GCSE can take AS Maths or A-Level Maths. See below for more details. You might find the following resources handy and see below for exam information and find out more here.

From September 2017, students will have the option to take an AS in Maths. Students will start learning the material in September and will take two exams in May/June of the following year.

Exam 1 – Pure Mathematics, out of 100 marks, worth 62.5% of the qualification, duration of 2 hours. Paper code: 8MA0/01.

Exam 2 – Statistics and Mechanics, out of 60 marks, worth 37.5% of the qualification, duration of 1 hour and 15 minutes. Paper code: 8MA0/01.

The Edexcel Maths A-Level will be taught from a new linear syllabus. Students will start learning the material in September and will take two exams in May/June two years later.

Exam 1 – Pure Mathematics, out of 100 marks, worth 33.33% of the qualification, duration of 2 hours. Paper code: 9MA0/01.

Exam 2 – Pure Mathematics, out of 100 marks, worth 33.33% of the qualification, duration of 2 hours. Paper code: 9MA0/02.

Exam 3 – Statistics and Mechanics, out of 100 marks, worth 33.33% of the qualification, duration of 2 hours. Paper code: 9MA0/03.
