  • use samples to make inferences about a populations, advantages and disadvantages of a sample/census; random, stratified, systematic, quota & opportunity sampling; understand, select and critique sampling methods

 Data Representation and Interpretation:

  • histograms, frequency polygons, cumulative frequency diagrams, box plots & outliers
  • scatter diagrams and correlation
  • measures of central tendency, measures of variation
  • linear interpolation & coding

 Probability: 

  • mutual exclusivity & independence
  • tree diagrams 
  • Venn diagrams

 Statistical Distributions: 

  • discrete probability distributions including uniform and binomial

 Hypothesis Testing: 

  • understand and use the terms null & alternate hypotheses, significance level, 1 & 2 tail testing, critical values & regions, p-values, etc.
  • conduct and interpret hypothesis tests for the proportion in a binomial distribution
